Do NOT be fooled by some things you see on other websites about CCTV DVRs.When choosing a DVR,no matter how good your CCTV cameras are,if the DVR cannot record in high res then your cameras are basically worthless.Most DVRs when recording real time and 16 cameras can only record in CIF mode which is 352×288 (PAL),so you get a very crappy image, when viewing past footage that you have recorded (the most important time,when you find somethings happened and you need that bit of recording).Most people will even try to sell you a 16 channel DVR that can only record at 200 frames per second,which is NOT real time recording,to be real time Each channel or camera has to be able to record at 25 frames per second,SO 16 × 25 = 400 frames per second.
This DVR records in full real time (400 fps) AND the recorded images are ALL in D1 resolution which is 704×576 (Pal),very big difference from 352×288!
